In The Begining

Heathcote School was founded by Mrs K. Latham in 1935. The original school was located at Heathcote House on Danbury Common and moved to its present location about 1940. In 1952 under the guidance of the new Principals,

The Middle Years

Mr & Mrs T.J. Heath, the school expanded and developed and many of the traditions that they began are still followed today.

The Modern Years

The Proprietors acquired the school in 1977 and have continued to develop and improve the facilities and curriculum to ensure its suitability to a more modern world in their role as Principals until July 2008.
With the appointment of their daughter Mrs. Carn to Principal in September 2008 Mr & Mrs Greenland  continued to be involved with the school in their role as Governors, offering great support and experience to the school.

The Headships

The Principals appointed Mrs. L. Hall as Headteacher in 2000. She developed the school further and instituted many of the administrative posts by which the school is directed today.

In 2004 Mr. K. Gladwin was appointed as Headteacher having served as deputy to Mrs. Hall. Under his leadership the children continued to achieve even greater successes in academic and sporting fields.

Mrs. Carn was appointed Vice-Principal in 2007 and became Principal in July 2008.

With their forward thinking views they plan to take Heathcote School to the next phase in its long history.
