Letter - Harvest Festival
Dear Parents,
We have pleasure in inviting you,
your family and friends to join the school on Wednesday 7th October
at 9.15am for our annual Harvest Festival Service at St John the Baptist Church
in Danbury.
All the children should be
brought to school in the usual way for 8.40am registration. They will then be
walked by their teachers to and from the church for the service. Pre-school
children do not attend this service as a class, however, if a parent would like
to bring their child to the service, they would be most welcome.
Once again, your harvest gifts
would be greatly appreciated. We are continuing our support for the local
charity CHESS. CHESS is the Churches Homeless Emergency Support Scheme and
helps people in the Chelmsford area who need support whilst they rebuild their
lives. Listed below are items that would be most useful for the charity's night
shelter work. Items can be packed in a box or non-returnable container to form
an attractive display as the children give their gifts during the service. Please
remember the children need to be able to carry the gifts themselves to the
church. Mr Trevor Myatt from CHESS will be joining us at the church to receive
the gifts and says a few words to the children about the work of the charity.
A collection of used clothes will be organised for the
first week after half-term and these will also be given to CHESS.
MRS J CARN
Food: semi-skimmed
long-life milk, coffee, fruit squashes, vegetable oil, tomato ketchup, brown
sauce, black pepper, tinned vegetables, chicken gravy granules and sugar. These
are most frequently used but any tinned or long life foodstuffs will be most
welcome.
Also needed are any
household goods such as soap powder, J-cloths and scourers.
