Welcome to our own section of the website. We are 'The New look PA!!!'. A lovely picture of us all is to follow.............

 

The PA has increased in size this year and unfortunately we say goodbye to Mrs Anne Northfield as Chair who worked really hard last year with limited help and managed to get an interactive whiteboard for the school amongst much much more. The new Chair is me! Tara Girling! I know, I am as surprised as anyone! Although we will be working as a team, we all have our own qualities and that is what is going to make the PA this year amazing!!!!!

 

The PA has now been given half of the notice board in the front playground so make sure you have a read when you are standing around in the playground waiting for your little darlings! It will keep you up to date on how much we have raised, where we intend to spend it and what events are coming up in the future, we would really appreciate any support you can give us, we aim to make it a fun year for the kids and the parents, watch out for our monthly newsletter.

 

We are keeping the blog as it is a good way to keep in touch with you all day to    day, we will also give you email updates if you want to let us have your email address, you can do this by emailing us at heathcotepa@yahoo.co.uk

You probably know what the PA is all about but for those of you that don't know    what our aim is each year, this is it, we want to raise as much money as possible to give our children fun events that would not normally be on the curriculum like Mad Scientists days (funded by the PA and arranged by Mr Kelly for the whole school).

Last year the PA funded an interactive whiteboard for the school and we  intend to do the same this year as we still have a couple of classes without them.

We also continue to fund the schools broadband........

 

With Christmas coming up we are organising and / or funding the following events:

 

* 27^th November 2009 – Cake morning in the hall from 8.45 onwards

* 6^th December 2009 – Christmas disco at Boreham House

* 9^th December 2009 – Christmas gifts for all the children at the Christmas lunch and Mulled wine and mince pies for all at 'Carols around the Tree'

We aim to hold lots of fun events throughout the school year and if any of you have any ideas then please let us know by dropping us an email heathcotepa@yahoo.co.uk or popping a note in the PA box outside the office or even grabbing one of us in the playground, we are always up for a chat!

 

We would love to see some new faces that are willing to help, even if its  just half an hour, anything is appreciated. Most of us have full time jobs or businesses to run but we believe by giving a little bit of our time our children and your children are going to have amazing benefits and great fun along the way. If you can't give your time and you find it easier to make donations e.g. cakes for cake morning, nearly new uniform we will gratefully accept.

 

Coffee mornings – Your opportunity to tell us what you want!

Our coffee mornings are held on the first Wednesday of every month, this is where we sell nearly new uniform so if you need anything then come  along, you get a free cup of tea or coffee and biscuits and a chance for a good old gossip. Its a really nice informal way to meet up and if you don't want to come along on your own then bring a friend, the more the merrier!!!

Unless otherwise stated on our noticeboard in the front playground then  the coffee mornings are held at 'The Griffin' in Danbury at 8.50am - 10am, plenty of parking for all!  

The PA committee have children in pretty much every class so if you have any questions that you don't necessarily want to chat to a teacher about you can come and have a chat with us, some of us have only had our children at the school from this September, some of us have been here for as long as 13 years!!! So we know quite a lot about most things!!! :0)

The PA has a class representative for each class in the school (well we hope to when you all come to us in your hoards). The reps are usually the source of any information and will sell tickets for events, try to rally up the parents of the children in their class to join us for events etc. If you are not too confident in asking for money or you would like to do something but don't really want a title then we will find a post for you!! If you can't commit on a regular basis that's fine too, we can give you a list of events and you can let us know whether you can help out or not, if you gave us half an hour a year that would be fab!

Your PA committee this year are as follows:

Chairman – Tara Girling – one child in Pre school (Tilly) and one child in year 6 (Tyler) – time at school 8 ½ years!!! 

Vice-Chairman – Elaine Byford – one child in year 6 (Sophie) and one child at Westcliff Girls (Eleanor, previously at Heathcote) – time at school  – 13 years!!

Secretary – Mandy Kallagher – one child in year 6 (Tayler) – time at school 3 years.

Treasurer – Lisa Castle – one child in KG (Charlotte) – time at school 1 year

Regular contributers without titles!!!!

Barrie Drewitt – 2 children in year 5 (Saffron & Aspen) and 1 child in year 2 (Orlando) – time at school 7 years

Marina Fairfield – 2 children in Pre – KG (Eleanor & Harry) – time at school – 3 months
