BiographyMr. & Mrs. Greenland acquired the school in 1977. Prior to this time Mr. Greenland had been an industrial chemist and Mrs. Greenland had taught in a variety of primary schools before joining Heathcote School in 1972. Between them they set about rebuilding and refurbishing the school whilst setting high educational standards for the children in their care. BiographyHeathcote School has been a part of my life since I was 3 years old when I started in the nursery and my mother taught KG. When I was in Form IV my parents became Principals. When I left school at 18 I went to work in the city but I was always there for the major school functions - Sports Day has always been a favourite of mine! I went back to college and joined the school as a KG teacher in 1994, moving into Form II in 2004. I was recently promoted to Vice-Principal and look forward to carrying on the family ethos of the school. InterestsTravel, cookery, gardening, theatre, retail therapy, kayaking, snorkeling and scuba. |

BiographyI embarked upon my teaching career in 1980, at The Sanders Draper School in Hornchurch. In 1990 I joined Heathcote School as Head of Boys Physical Education and Head of Science. I was then promoted to Deputy Head Teacher in 1999 and subsequently to Head Teacher in 2004. My teaching experience cascades across all 4 key stages of education. |

BiographyFollowing my graduation in 1987, my teaching experiences took me from South to Inner London. I was later tempted across the Atlantic to the Bahamas, where I lived and worked on Grand Bahama Island for several sunny years before returning to Essex. |

Mrs H Appleton Head of Girls PE Head of French |
BiographyMrs Appleton gained her degree and teaching diploma in New Zealand before travelling extensively and working around the world. She began teaching at Heathcote School when her youngest child, Lizzie, started here in Kindergarten. She has worked throughout each area of the school bringing her passion for sport to effect in Netball. Her spare time is spent as a British Horse Society Riding Instructress working with selected pupils at national competition level. |

BiographyMrs. Dines joined Heathcote School as a qualified teacher aged 21! Over the years she has seen many changes, worked with talented teaching assistants and children, many of whom remain in contact to this day. She has taught at KS.1&2 and currently holds the rewarding position of Art & Design Co-ordinator.In recent years she has developed school holiday art workshops, specialising in textiles, where she welcomes children and young teens of all levels and abilities. Mrs. Dines and her husband delight in the company of their family - daughter and son were each at one time Nelson Games Captains. Her interests include off-beat travel, live music events with friends and of course, all things arty crafty. |

BiographyMr. Ewan joined the team at Heathcote School in 2005 bringing with him a great deal of valuable experience, he was appointed as Head of Maths and Key Stage 2 manager He qualified with Certificate in Education 1972 at Alsager College of Education in Maths and Rural Science and a BA (Hons) in Maths and Systems Research followed. |

Mr A Sadikali
|
BiographyMr Sadikali joined Heathcote School at the start of the academic year in 2007. He was appointed as Year 3 pastoral tutor and teaches the majority of the science in the school. Along with Mr Gladwin he supervises the football team and other sports fixtures that occur at the school. He studied Business at Hertfordshire University and after a period of travelling, working in London and working on children’s summer camps, he eventually decided teaching was the way forward and the primary sector was where he could make the biggest difference. His interests include travelling, various sports, playing the guitar, good music & food (he cooks a mean chicken curry) and exploring new challenges. |

Mrs C Windley |
BiographyMrs. Windley grew up in Danbury, completed her teacher training on the borders of the Peak District and then attained a B’Ed Honours degree at Sheffield University. She now co-ordinates special needs in the Pre Prep and was at one time a member of North West Essex’s Special Needs team. She is the proud mum of two, lived in Sydney, Australia for three years and is also an old school chum of Mrs.Dines. Interests- Travel, Animals(particularly dogs and horses) Arts and Crafts |

BiographyMrs Rigler has worked in the IT industry since the early ‘80s when personal computers were first imported into the UK. She began teaching IT at Heathcote in 2001, initially working only with Form 6, but in the last year teaching ICT throughout the Prep School. |

BiographyI grew up in Rettendon Common and started playing the piano and also had singing lessons when I went to St.John Payne Secondary School. I studied for my ‘A' levels and a BA Hons music degree at the Colchester Institute where I graduated from in 1997. I have been teaching at Heathcote School for nearly two years now and enjoy all aspects of my work here. I live in Maldon with my husband and two children, Louie who is four and Sofia who is nearly one. My life is extremely busy with two young children but I love it and wouldn't change it for the world! |

BiographyI joined Heathcote as a parent from 1978 to 1992 when my 3 sons went to the school.I began working at the school in 1987 as a Teaching assistant in Forms KG, 1 and 111. With a background involved with sport all my life I am a qualified ASA diving and swimming teacher and have taught swimming at Heathcote for many years. I have also been involved with all aspects of sport from Netball to Football and ran an athletics and cricket club with my husband on Saturdays at the school for 8 years and a Netball club after school. With a BSc in Radiography which included dealing with complicated machinery, my love of computers followed on and I have been IT manager for the last 6 years. Finally but not least I look after the library resource which involves all aspects of the books and the room. InterestsGolf – as well as playing, my husband and I are cadet organisers at Three Rivers Golf Club which involves organising competitions for the cadets as well as Child Protection and Health and Safety. The family, computers, sport and gardeningSwimmingThere will be a gala at Chelmsford in June when we take a team of about 12 boys and girls mostly from Form V and V1. (Date to be announced) |

BiographyI spent fifteen years as an officer in the Metropolitan Police Service, working mainly in the East End of London, dealing with every aspect of crime including a three posting on the Child Protection Team. Whilst waiting for promotion to Detective Sergeant, I was involved in an accident, which resulted in early retirement. In January 2003 I took up the role of teaching assistant at Heathcote School. In order to become a more effective assistant I studied for my NVQ 2 Early Years and Education and then the NVQ 3 Teaching Assistant. I am currently attending a course for Developing Advanced Skills in Supporting Students at KS1 & 2 Hobbies: I enjoy reading and as can be seen from above academic studies. My husband and I also support and encourage our two children in their extra curriculum activities. |

Biography
My first contact with Heathcote School was in 2005 when my son joined Form 1 and my daughter joined Pre-school. I became involved with the Parents Association and then took up the role of Teaching Assistant in January 2008. Prior to this I worked as a Legal Secretary.

BiographyI have been working as a pre-school teacher for the last year. Before this I set up a private day nursery and have worked in a day nursery as manager and deputy before starting my own family. I am currently studying for my early years degree. I am a qualified SENCO for special needs. I have got ASA swimming teacher qualification and a First Aid certificate, I have been on lots of one day courses and training for the early years. I also run a cookery club which encourages healthy eating and gets the children to try a new and wide range of food.

BiographyMy connection with Heathcote School goes back to 1972 when my eldest son joined the Nursery. My other son joined the following year and I started to work in the office in 1976 when Mr and Mrs Heath were the Principals. Mrs Greenland was my sons' Kindergarten teacher.

BiographyI started working at Heathcote School eight years ago and spent my first couple of years working in the Kindergarten class with Mrs Carn. I then moved on to be the numeracy assistant in the upper school. For the last few years I have been at the central hub of the school – the office, as school secretary.
I play the piano and we recently bought a drum kit – so my house is nice and noisy! I love jazz-street dance, badminton and circuit training. |

BiographyMy association with Heathcote began in 1996 when my eldest daughter Jessica started in Pre-school, Remy joined shortly after and was Head Girl in 2006. I joined the team in September 2005 initially to help out in the office with general office duties. Having since completed the Certificate of School Business Management I have now been promoted to School Bursar with responsibility for all Financial and Personnel matters. Prior to this I left school at 16 and worked in the Foreign Exchange dealing room of an International Bank in London, leaving to start a family. I then helped my husband run a fruit importing company based in South Africa. I enjoy travelling, DIY, skiing, walking my dogs and spending time "socializing" with my friends and family. |

Biography
I have been employed at Heathcote school for four years as a lunchtime assistant. Since joining the school I have obtained a First Aid qualification and am now also the First Aider at lunch-time; the children come to me when they fall over or hurt themselves. I love working with the children who are all friendly and interesting. I also hear readers, under the supervision of the class teacher, to give the children more reading practice. This is a very enjoyable part of my work at the school. |
