Our Website
The concept
The original concept for the new website was proposed by Vice Principal Mrs Jacey Carn. The core of this concept was that the website should contain a rich collection of photos taken by the teachers and the children of Heathcote School, and that new photos and content should be added on a very regular basis. This would provide an exciting window into the life of the school, teachers and most importantly the children of Heathcote.
The project
The task of managing and developing the project was taken up by Mr Stephen Carn (Marketing Director of Ends (UK) Ltd). This included liaising with the Principals, teachers, office staff and many others at Heathcote School to help shape the website with their input. With aid and advice from Michael Summers (a staff member at Ends (UK) Ltd), Stephen was involved in constructing, inserting content and adding a vast number of photos to the new website. Content was also added and shaped by others, including Mrs Jacey Carn, Mr Russell Greenland and many others. Thanks goes out to all those who have helped to give the website a vibrant start.
The future
The website will always be growing. With content and photos being added by teachers and the children, there will always be something new to read and look at. The website will also be the primary place for important information for parents and staff alike.
The Heathcote Galleries
The Heathcote Galleries are hosted on internet system called Phanfare. This system provides secure access to all the photos currently available of the School, it's activities and the children. Heathcote
School Web Site Philosophy:
Positive:
We
want people to use the web site to share happy moments, strengthen friendships,
and to
connect with the school.
Creative:
The
web site is a tool for the Children, Parents and Staff to record and show
people what they can and do
archive.
Useful:
We
are in awe of the power of digital photography and in part are building the web
site to record and remember the time we spend with the children. Digital
photography has altered the definition for what is considered a memorable
event; today one can casually capture the details of a afternoon spent in the
class room teaching children, giving parents the opportunity to share in more
intimate moments with their child and see the daily life and happenings at the
school.
