Heathcote is a non-selective, independent, co-educational school that welcomes applications from pupils from all social or cultural backgrounds who will profit from the educational opportunities that Heathcote provides and who will contribute fully and enthusiastically to the wider life of the school.
Parents are welcome to attend one of our Open Days (please see the website for details) or to telephone the school office to arrange a tour and interview at your convenience. During your tour you will be given the opportunity to speak to pupils and to meet with the Headteacher to discuss your requirements.
Children are then invited to the school for an Assessment Day to allow them to familiarise themselves with the school’s surroundings and see for themselves what it might be like to be a pupil at the school. Key Stage One and Two pupils undertake a short assessment in Literacy and Numeracy to inform us of the level at which the child is working, together with any potential support the child may require. It is also important that each Key Stage Leader can make a judgement whether or not a child is likely to benefit from the education on offer within the context of the school’s stated aims, ethos and behaviour policy.
An application form should then be completed and returned together with a registration fee of £100. On receipt of the registration fee you will be informed in writing if a place is available in your child’s year group and an “acceptance of a place” form will need to be completed and returned with £500 deposit which is refunded when your child leaves at the end of Year 6. This will secure your child’s place at Heathcote School or Nursery. A pre-payment of £200 will be required a term before your child is due to start. This amount will be deducted from the fee of the first term.
Pre-payment of Reception Fees
Children entering our Early Years setting are expected to transition through to the main school. In line with our whole school policy, if a child is removed from Pre-school and therefore not continuing into the main school, we may ask any siblings in Nursery to leave to allow places to be used by children progressing through to Reception.
All children joining our Pre-school will be required to pay a deposit towards Reception fees at the current rate of £500 – this will be applied to the Autumn Pre-School bill and will be refunded on the Summer Reception bill.
Notice
A reminder that one whole term’s notice is required should you want your child to leave the setting or fees will be charged in lieu.
Waiting List
If a place is not immediately available, we operate a waiting list. Your details will be kept and you will be informed should a place arise.
