We are thrilled to announce that Heathcote has been “Highly Commended” in the ISA Junior School of the Year Awards 2025-2026— selected from almost 800 schools across the country. This prestigious recognition from the Independent Schools Association celebrates excellence across teaching, innovation, pastoral care, and enrichment opportunities.
For this award, junior schools are evaluated on how their decisions, ethos, and practices drive exceptional outcomes across a school’s operation: special educational needs, curriculum, arts, sport, co-curriculum, and personal or academic progress. Being highly commended means we’re really demonstrating how our innovative approach is delivering results.
We are exceptionally proud that this recognition reaffirms what we first achieved in 2021, when Heathcote was named overall Junior School of the Year by the ISA. On that occasion, judges praised our school’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our teamwork, family support, technology provision, and staff upskilling. That win set a high standard—a standard which we continue to build on with dedication, passion, and a deep commitment to each child in our care.
“Being highly commended in such a competitive category is a testament to the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our pupils, and the unwavering support of our families,” said Samantha Scott, Headteacher, Heathcote. “At Heathcote, we pride ourselves on nurturing curiosity, creativity, and confidence in every child, and this recognition affirms the strength of our community and the exceptional opportunities we provide. We are incredibly proud of this achievement and extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed to making our school such a special place to learn and grow.”
