Our Form 6 pupils have performed incredibly well in the recent 11+ entrance examinations in spite of Covid-19 restrictions last term, with 88% pass rate across CSSE and CEM tests.
Our pupils start their 11+ journey in Form 3 with weekly 11+ lessons on the timetable, increasing their frequency from Form 4, and an additional 11+ club after school in Form 5. We use Bond Books, Schofield & Sims and CGP as part of the curriculum and many practice papers throughout the year. In 2021 we are excited to be introducing mock exams on Saturday mornings (additional to fees) to enable pupils to practice in exam conditions.
Our school is non-selective – all pupils are given the opportunity to work towards and take the exams. We work very closely with pupils and their families to establish their needs for secondary school and provide the support needed for the entrance exams they want to take – both grammar and independent, including scholarships.
The excellent teaching and outstanding provision at Heathcote sets our pupils up for success as they move on from our school and this has been recognised in our latest ISA Inspection Report. We were determined that our pupils’ education would not be impacted by the Covid-19 lockdown in March and quickly put full off-site learning in place.
Congratulations children, the Heathcote staff are so thrilled with your hard work, progress and attainment! We look forward to seeing those grammar school uniforms next year. Many thanks to the staff and families who worked so diligently to give these pupils the support they deserve.
