During the first half of the Spring term, Heathcote pupils were encouraged to think outside the box and engage their creativity, experimental attitudes, problem solving and critical thinking to work on a project to build, test and improve a vehicle of their own design and making. The winner will go on to represent Heathcote at the ISA round of the STEAM competition.
STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) enables us to link different disciplines to produce a collaborative, cross-curricular approach to learning, ensuring the best result is achieved.
We are proud to announce that Ronnie is our winner for the Heathcote round of the competition and will go forward to represent us at the ISA round of the National STEAM competition.
The entries were judged on their achievement across the following criteria:
- Creativity, originality and innovation
- Presentation and communication
- Procedure and results
- Effort and motivation
If you watch Ronnie’s entry, we’re sure you’ll agree that he demonstrates skills across all four criteria and is a very worthy winner.
Congratulations Ronnie!
