Mrs Forgeron
Many thanks to all of you who attended our work sharing afternoons last week. We hope you enjoyed the opportunity to see your children’s books and folders. I hope also that you find the parents’ evenings this week and next informative and helpful.
This month’s theme is humility. Humility often conjures up images of weakness, submissiveness and fear but real humility is a sign of strength, confidence and courage. The humble person keeps their accomplishments, gifts and talents in a proper perspective. They have self-knowledge and are aware of their limitations as an individual and as a human being. However, humble individuals are also oriented towards others because they value the welfare of other people and have the ability to “forget themselves” when appropriate.
It came to my attention this week that a young man in Year 6 has indeed ‘forgotten himself’ and is putting others first. Frank has decided to forego any presents he may have received for his birthday so that he can donate their value to charity. Having watched a documentary at home he will now raise money for ‘Charity Water’ so that others less fortunate than him can have this essential commodity for the rest of their lives. To find out more about this worthwhile cause please go to www.charitywater.org.
